Not the finish Bangladesh wanted. After all the hard work with the bat on the first two days, they are now facing the prospect of a defeat – might even be an innings loss. Sri Lanka batted, batted and batted long enough to leave the hosts playing for a draw. The deficit was 200 when they started their second innings, Tamim and Kayes brought it down to 148, but three late wickets, including that of Tamim and Rahim, have firmly put the visitors in the driving seat. The pitch has started to assist the spinners a lot more, a wicket to all the three frontline Sri Lankan spinners, and the hosts will have to show plenty of grit if they are to emerge unscathed from the match. A minimum of 90 overs coming up tomorrow, I reckon Bangladesh must face a majority of those if they are to salvage a draw.
